Are you ready to pointe?
Every ballerina have wonder this. What takes to dance in pointe? What that dancers that go bright, light and stunning on pointe have? Do I have it?
I dont dance in pointe yet, probably next year :) so I am one of these ballerinas that wonder how the pointe will be.
There is a perfect age to start on pointe? No, but the ideal is after 10, when the body has the right structure to support the body.
How many years of Ballet Training? At least two or three years of serious ballet classes.
Bones structure: the ideal foot has the fingers with similar sizes, like a square plataform, to help the weight distribution. The dancer who have the feet with the first finger bigger than the others maybe have some trouble, because the whole weight of the body has to be support by this finger, but this doesnt stop the dancer to use the pointe. The worse foot to dance is the one that the second finger is bigger than the first :(
The flexibility of the ankles and the arch of the feet has to be analyzed too
Muscles: the student needs to have strong abdominal and buttocks muscles to create the appropiate align. The anckle muscles has to be strongh enough to hold the ankles strongly in the right position.
Well, these are the most recurent questions, I hope this help, any doubts, go to my ask, I would love to help.
ps: Im sorry for my awful english :(
Never give up
Today I will do a post about feelings, no technique, no movements or dance rules shit.
its so hard, isnt it? See those adorable, graceful, beautiful, perfect dancers and when we look to ourselves we cant see anything, even a little of that perfection.First we think, ok, Im shitty now, but I will work hard I will be perfect like that girl, or that boy. Our “work hard motivation” lasts a year maybe? a month? a week? Then you come back to your lazy life, suddenly, your teacher, or your parents, or your dance friend give you a ” reality shock”, ok, you wake up and start work hard on dance again, and you magically keeps working hard and when you decides to look at yourself, at your work, you still dont see anything, you dont see any strenght, any flexibility, any grace, nothing, you still the “clumsy elephant”.
What now?
you think about give up, but you love dance so much that you dont have the courage to do it.
The only thing I have to say to you now is: think about it, think about how much you love dance, think about that day that you got the right movement, the perfect split, the perfect pirouette, grand jeté or whatever.Think about it. Only about it. Take a long breathe, and keep going, thats all we can do, instead of complain, is just keep going.
But dont forget, its not just go, its go and go hard, doesnt matter how long will take, we will do this.
Well, these are my feelings today awesome dancers, and I just want to share them with you, maybe someone is feeling the same :c
Lets fight!
ps:Im sorry for my english, Im a brazilian girl who did her best.
With love, Jz.
The first rules of a dancer
1. Technique
A dancer who looks good is different from a dancer with technique.
You can do an arabesque who looks awesome lifting your leg throught your gluteal muscles, non-dancers will not see the difference, but dancers will. This is a technique issue, on a arabesque you should use your hamstrings, not your gluteus.
Before your start your movement, make sure that your feet are open your knees and back are straight, your arms strong and graceful, your shoulders back and low and your head up. In the beginning seems a lot to do, but over the time you will do it naturally. Then, during the movement, still make sure that everything is on the right place.
2.Be graceful
Grace is one of the most important and required things from a dancer. Ballet is a dance where you should slide, not walk, fly, not jump, thats why the pointe shoes were made, to make people think the ballerina is flying!
So forget all your problems, forget your pain, concentrate your muscles and use all your technique to transform yourself in a real swan!
3.Dance with your soul
People should know that you love what you are doing.Smile. Let your dance love, let your passion fill all your body, be self-confident, believe in yourself and make it happen!

I hope It helped you all awesome dancers! If you read it and liked it, click on the heart ^ I wanna know what you think.
